Elevator Speech Category: Speech Type: Individual Topic: Present an elevator speech to a State Senator about how FBLA-Middle Level helps students develop leadership skills and why it is important to have this organization in middle schools. Multimedia & Website Development Category: Prejudged Project & Objective Test Type: Individual Topic: Design, build, and launch a website that features the competitor’s ability to incorporate the elements of website design, graphic layout, and proper coding techniques. Website topic: Promote the new LEAD Program. 2018 2018 NCFBLA SLC COMPETITIVE EVENTS – Middle Level COMPUTER SLIDESHOW - ML Create a computer Slide show on the following topic: "Why is it important for students to be involved in community service?" DESKTOP PUBLISHING - ML You have been asked to design a brochure for a North Carolina University or College. Use at least 3 appropriate graphics in the brochure. The brochure should be a tri-fold on an 8 1/2” x 11” paper with a landscape orientation. Use bullets, at least two fonts, and at least 2 special effects somewhere in the brochure. Be creative when designing the brochure. Items to consider: The following items must be included: Name of the school and location (city) History of the school (Year established, etc.) Address/Phone Number Mascot/School Colors Criteria for Admissions Fees and Tuition Costs (In-State, Out of State) Majors you could study (At least 5) At least two of the following items must also be included: Famous people who attended the school Any championships the school has won Types of dining/restaurants available on campus Nearby recreational attractions (lakes, beach, etc.) Activities/Clubs you could be involved in Proper capitalization, punctuation, and grammar throughout the brochure. |

Registration forms were distributed at this meeting Our nationally-award winning FBLA Chapter is open to all students at CMS. Mentored by the CTE Teachers and business partners, FBLA members hone their employability skills, participate in service and leadership activities, compete in a variety of business topics, and serve as student volunteers during school events. Please note: In order to compete, students must pay dues ($12) by Oct. 20. They must also have completed or be enrolled in a Business CTE class taught by Mr. Staton, Ms. St. Juliana or Ms. Martin. 2017-2018
